Suits For Men

Posted by admin on June 23rd, 2009

A suit is a symbol of a man.A man will be more handsome if he takes the suit.

     History:

The suit is a traditional form of men’s formal clothes in the Western world. For some four hundred years, suits of matching coat, trousers, and waistcoat have been in and out of fashion. The modern lounge suit’s derivation is visible in the outline of the brightly-coloured, elaborately-crafted royal court dress of the 17th century (suit, wig, knee breeches), which was shed because of the French Revolution. This evolution is seen more recently in British tailoring’s use of steam and padding in moulding woolen cloth, the rise and fall in popularity of the necktie, and the gradual disuse of waistcoats and hats in the last fifty years.

The modern lounge suit appeared in the late 19th century, but traces its origins to the simplified, sartorial standard of dress established by the British king Charles II in the 17th century. In 1666, the restored monarch, Charles II, per the example of King Louis XIV’s court at Versailles, decreed that in the English Court men would wear a long coat, a waistcoat (then called “petticoat”), a cravat (a precursor of the necktie), a wig, and knee breeches (trousers), and a hat.

     Style:

Mens Suit Styles are not all that complicated. The main thing you really need to know is that there are four main styles. Everything else is just a hodgepodge of the 4 mixed up so you can’t tell. We have American suits,English suits, Mandarin suits, and the Italian suit. Read the rest of this entry »

What are the men`s formal wear?

Posted by admin on June 22nd, 2009

It seems that the men wearing women clothes are very fashion. For men however, the act of wearing women’s clothing in public is something of an act of defiance. It breaks the rules. It shocks onlookers. It draws furtive glances and giggles.

Not all of these things are bad. Most of us grow up within this double standard never questioning it. I know I certainly didn’t until I actually met a man who wore lingerie and began to see the world through his eyes. It’s easy to judge people for not seeing the inequality, but the fact of the matter is, as humans we tend to see only those things which effect us. You could call it being self centered, but in reality it is probably more a result of the fact that there is just no real way to comprehend all of the social issues in the world at one time.We only have so much brain space, and much of that is taken up with the task of not falling over when we walk.

So then, when we first see a man wearing women’s clothing, be it a skirt, a dress, some panties, or even just carrying a purse, our little minds are blown.

Some people react to this change with anger and try to reject it. ‘It’s wrong’, they say, or ‘It’s gay’. (Thereby rejecting the behavior by associating it with a group which has traditionally been marginalized and stigmatized.)

Other people are more on the fence. ‘Huh. Okay. I guess if he wants to it’s okay.’ Read the rest of this entry »
